Genre Spotlight: Comedy

Comedy is one of the most popular and prolific of film genres; for as long as there have been films, there has been comedy. Aside from making people split their sides with laughter, comedy films have also been about a lot more than what we get at face value. They often act as a vehicle for social and cultural commentary, they reflect aspects of society and put the spotlight on social issues that are important, but in a way that means we can all have a good laugh.
