Time Traveller Day: Top 3 Time Travel Films

Never one to shy away from joining in an international celebration, our team of cine film transfer specialists couldn’t help but notice that December 8th is in fact Pretend to be a Time Traveller Day! Well, with the sheer volume of incredible time travel films there have been over the years we thought we would pay homage to all those times we were able to immerse ourselves in a time travelling experience and give to you some of the best time traveller movies ever to hit the silver screen!

Back to the Future (1985)

Well… surely there are no arguments here? The time travel movie to trump all time travel movies! With the October 21st 2015 landmark just behind us, we’ve had plenty of reasons to revisit Marty and Doc Brown over the last few months, so make sure you punctuate the year with a rewatch of this absolute classic!

Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure (1989)

The 80s were a gold mine for time travelling movies, from our previous entry to Terminator, to this comedic gem; Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure. Considered to be overshadowed by Back to the Future, Bill & Ted offers laughs in spades as the two slackers attempt to group a plethora of historical figures for the sake of their history grade. Hilarity ensues as these two bumblers come face-to-face with everyone from Napoleon to Beethoven!

The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992)

OK, not strictly a time travel movie…. but it’s Christmas, so allow us a little bit of wiggle room! This take on a literary classic is often considered many people’s favourite rendition of the Dickens novel. With a soundtrack that will have your audience skipping throughout the house, The Muppet Christmas Carol is a modern Christmas classic with everything from suspense and horror to wholesome comedy, and is the perfect Christmas movie to whip out this Pretend to be a Time Traveller Day!
